VACast 0.6.2
Released October 10, 2026
- Left and right are unified again across the whole body. The eyes, the gaze, the eyelids and every left/right face shape (Perfect Sync, face tracking parameters) went to the opposite side from the arms and the head, in both Mirror modes. Closing your right eye now closes the avatar's matching eye, and looking right moves the avatar's eyes the same way as its head.
- The hand assignment used when the body is out of view now follows the hand model's own left/right, so a hand no longer lands on the wrong avatar hand there. The Tracking panel's Blink bars show the avatar's left and right eye, like the Gesture row.
- The tray icon has "Check for updates" items. The tray now runs on its own thread, so the app no longer pauses while the tray menu is open, and rendering continues while you move or resize the window or use the system menu.
- A hand held at the chin or beside the face now ends up there on the avatar, whatever the avatar's proportions. The arms followed the pose model's wrist, which sits 2-9 cm toward the elbow when the hand is in front of the face. They now follow the hand model's wrist and hold the palm, not the wrist, to the face, so small-handed avatars no longer end up with their fingers at the neck.
- The pose model can be chosen (
tracker_pose_modelin settings.json: lite, full or heavy; lite by default, heavy needs the GPU).
VACast 0.6.1
Released October 10, 2026
- Arms now follow the tracked arm pose. Elbows, forearms and wrists are positioned from the tracked arm, scaled to the avatar, with a 30% pull toward the face-relative hand positions. For example, a hand on the chin now reaches the chin instead of the chest.
